APS Leadership Edge
APS Leadership Edge
APS Leadership Edge is designed for Executive Level 2 (EL 2) employees across the Australian Public Service (APS). It is a cohort-based social learning program which will enable EL 2s to develop their leadership and management skills through a range of learning sprints and activities. APS Leadership Edge is designed and delivered by APS practitioners and subject matter experts, with all content created for an APS application. APS Leadership Edge will provide opportunities to embed learnings through practical application and expand professional networks across the APS.
In 2025, APS Leadership Edge will also be available to high-performing EL1s with support from their supervisor.
APS Leadership Edge will begin February 2025 and close down for the end of the year on 12 December 2025.
In 2025, there will be two ways to interact with APS Leadership Edge:
- APS Leadership Edge Community.
- APS Leadership Edge.
APS Leadership Edge Community
APS Leadership Edge Community is our new offering as part of APS Leadership Edge. It is a low-cost, high-impact social learning experience for EL2s. We know developing communities to allow people to seek advice and learn from each other works (see the APS Professions). We’re going to build this community for EL2s and supercharge it by including:
- Access to masterclasses
- Targetted learning opportunities
- Developing and sharing EL2 specific resources.
APS Leadership Edge Community will be the place for EL2s to find out the latest information, connect with their peers and develop their leadership and management capability.
APS Leadership Edge
APS Leadership Edge is the current successful program, but we’re enhancing it to provide a better experience. It will include:
- Access to the 4 core learning sprints in two different formats, multiple times over the year
- Access to choice of additional learning sprints on-demand
- Group coaching sessions
- APS Leadership Edge Community access
With our enhanced delivery for APS Leadership Edge, it will be more flexible and valuable for the participants.
APS Leadership Edge delivery
APS Leadership Edge is delivered completely virtually, combining learning in synchronous and asynchronous modes. Synchronous learning experiences involve real-time interaction between participants and facilitators, such as through live learning webinars. Asynchronous learning experiences on the other hand, allow participants to complete learning and assignments on their own schedule, without the need for real-time interaction. This approach aligns with the principles of the APS Continuous Learning Model.
