Digital & data literacy is an understanding of how to use digital tools and data.
As the APS continues its drive towards digital government in a digital economy, automation and digital transformation will alter how APS employees work and the skills they need.
Public service employees should understand the crucial contribution of digital technologies as a strategic driver to:
- create open, participatory and trustworthy public sectors,
- to improve social inclusiveness and government accountability, and
- to bring together government and non-government actors and develop innovative approaches to contribute to national development and long-term sustainable growth (see Digital Government Strategies Welfare Service).
You can find your digital strengths and weaknesses with the Digital Competence Wheel. The Digital Competence Wheel is developed by the Danish Center for Digital Dannelse, who have been specialising in digital formation and digital competences for more than 10 years. The Wheel's purpose is to provide an overview of digital competences and offer concrete tools on how these competences can be elevated and improved.
Try the Digital Competence Wheel
The Digital Competence Wheel has a theoretical basis from a major EU research project called DIGCOMP, derived from the European Parliament´s inclusion of digital competence as one of the eight core competences for lifelong learning.
You can use these data and digital resources to improve your literacy while we work on streamlining the APS training process. Use the resources below to strengthen your weaknesses.
