Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre
The Commonwealth Fraud Prevention Centre’s purpose is to strengthen counter fraud arrangements across the Australian Government. This is done by:
- Equipping stakeholders with leading practice guidance and tools to strengthen their counter fraud capability.
- Enabling stakeholders to respond to emerging issues, connect, collaborate and share data and information.
- Empowering stakeholders with a better evidence base and understanding of fraud so they can influence positive change.
The Centre has built a strong and trusted reputation among stakeholders and international partners, and have:
- Published over 35 leading practice guides and toolkits and developed internationally-recognised innovations such as Fraudster Personas.
- Provided direct support in areas such as fraud control, risk assessment, control testing, data sharing and fraud data analytics.
- Directly uplifted the capability of officials across the APS through the award-winning Counter Fraud Practitioner Training Program.
