APS Disability Employment Strategy
The Australian Public Service Disability Employment Strategy 2020–25 (the Strategy) provides a foundation for building an inclusive and diverse Australian Public Service (APS).
In May 2019, the Australian Government committed to a new employment target for people with disability in the APS of 7% by 2025. Across the APS, 7% equates to employing at least an additional 4,500 people with disability by 2025.
The Strategy has 2 focus areas for how to:
- attract, recruit and retain more people with disability
- improve accessible and inclusive workplace cultures and environments
Actions for effective implementation in Commonwealth agencies are provided in detail.
