Sam Chard, PSM, Head of Division, Business Grants Hub at the Department of Industry, Science and Resources presents on why influencing without authority is an important skill and how to do it. Her deep experience within the APS positions Sam to share meaningful perspectives on the power of influencing.

Sam Chard, PSM

Sam Chard, PSM, is Head of Division, Business Grants Hub at the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Her role oversees the delivery of over $7 billion in government funding to over 83,000 businesses, and she is responsible for establishing improved integrity capability within the department. She is a Gateway Reviewer for the Department of Finance, a Disability Champion within her department, and a Senior Representative for the Territories Stolen Generation Redress Scheme. Prior to her current role, Sam established and led the Australian Radioactive Waste Agency, for which she was awarded a public service medal. She has over 10 years SES experience in policy and program areas, spanning criminal intelligence, national security and critical infrastructure risk management.
