After successful deliveries of the APS Academy’s virtual induction course ‘APS Unlocked’ in 2023, the APS Academy is proud to announce this free opportunity will continue in 2024. The next free session will be held on 14 February.
The 2023 sessions, attended by 20 agencies across the APS received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with the course being recognised as a flagship offering in the 2022/2023 State of Service Report.
APS Unlocked is the third phase in the APS Induction Pathway which is developed in response to Recommendation 24 of the Independent Review of the APS 2019. The Pathway and APS Unlocked enhances the induction experience in line with the APS Continuous Learning Model and APS Learning and Development Strategy.
In combination with the digital APS Companion and a new suite of online ‘APS Foundations’ learning modules, new staff will be able to focus on key areas such as legislation, policies and public service values. They will achieve this by unlocking the tacit knowledge held by experienced practitioners through hearing about their career journeys, asking questions and developing connections across the APS.
The APS Academy are hosting these free events in an ongoing capacity during the months of February, April, June, August and October. We invite new or returning employees to the public service to be a part of this innovative approach to building APS capability.
