The APSC has updated the SES Performance Leadership Framework following the outcome of a scheduled implementation review undertaken in partnership between the APSC and the Chief Operating Officers Committee.
The Framework has been developed with reference to existing legislation, policy and guidance regarding expected behaviour in the APS. A key feature of the Framework is that effective SES leaders enable collective performance through exemplifying leadership behaviours. Specifically, the focus on behaviour, or how outcomes are delivered, is considered core to SES performance.
Given agencies have already undertaken a significant amount of work to implement the Framework to date, the core elements of the Framework have not changed. Key refinements to the Framework include strengthened moderation requirements and increased emphasis on accountability, new appendices to more fully explain behavioural requirements and providing additional flexibility for agencies while supporting consistency across the APS.
The Framework and supporting resources are now available.
