Procurement Basics eLearning
This course advances procurement capability across the APS; to deliver value for money outcomes from Commonwealth procurement activities; and ensure APS officials understand and acquit their obligations in line with Commonwealth procurement requirements.
Key course content:
- Procurement definition and the legislative environment.
- Probity definition and the purpose of applying and demonstrating probity in procurement.
- A breakdown of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and what they mean for procurement activities.
- Procurement methods: open tender and limited tender, and Whole of Australian Government panels.
- Value for money definition and considerations and achieving value for money in procurement.
- Each phase and the 13 steps of the Procurement Lifecycle in detail: what officials are required to do in a procurement activity.
- The purpose and types of documentation required to support delegate decision-making, and ensuring decisions are documented and defensible.
