The Sir Roland Wilson Foundation PhD Scholarship program is open to Executive Level APS employees to study for a PhD full-time at the Australian National University on issues of national significance.
Available to APS employees at Executive Levels 1 and 2.
The APS has partnered with the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation to offer scholarships for high performing APS employees to complete a full-time doctoral program at the Australian National University.
The Sir Roland Wilson PhD Scholarship program is open to APS Executive Level employees to research a topic of strategic importance to the nominating agency or of national significance to the APS.
The Foundation covers the costs of tuition and scholarly development, including a program of events and learning activities and possible access to an international project or conference opportunity, while participating agencies contribute scholars’ salaries and offer professional support for the duration of the three-year program.
Available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees at levels APS4 – SES Band 1.
In addition to the PhD scholarship program, the Sir Roland Wilson Pat Turner Scholarship program is available to high performing Indigenous APS employees to complete full-time post-graduate study at either the Australian National University or Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory.
Scholars may pursue either approved post-graduate coursework or a post-graduate research program at Master or doctoral level.
Like the PhD program, scholars will develop research, analytical and leadership skills, and pursue topics of national significance and strategic importance to the Australian Public Service.
